The day when i will finally walk on the isle and wear that black toga, and hear that graduation anthem which everyone is familiar with.....sa oras na napost na toh eh, kasalukuyan na akong bumabyahe ppnta sa Manila Hotel, Fiesta Pavillion. Just to meet the call time of 6am and wait for the ceremony, and of course, kasama na yung picture2 dun, hehe,If mabasa niu ito ng later than 3am, probably during daytime, well, on-going na ceremony nun....Today is the freedom na inaantabayanan ko, simula nung huli akong naghiatus..hehehehe Theo's back, whether my haters like or not, wahahahahaha!
anyway
Limang taon din ako naging bahagi nging isang HRM student, from this day forth, ako na ay isang HRM graduate, not a student anymore.
All those time na nagpuyat ako, nag-init ang ulo sa mga kagrupo na ayaw kumilos. Hais.
but let me state my advice to those who are aspiring to enter the Hospitality Industry and or in other words, take the same course that I have taken... Take it as a fatherly advice....
As you graduate from your high-school, with your mind set with that course that you want to pursue,
read what i have to state, think of this as the 10 Commandments of HRM.
- "DO NOT TAKE HRM AS A COURSE BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T HAVE A CHOICE." (There are a lot people who says that they are taking HRM because they had no other choice, at least, for your sake, make up your mind on what course you would really want before graduating in high-school. I'm telling you, HRM is not as easy as it seems, it's going to be a tough road, i assure you.... It may not have a board examination after graduation, but the competition will be stiff, it is the battle of the most skillful.)
- "DO NOT CHOOSE HRM AS If IT 'S A COURSE FOR THE REASON THAT IT IS EASY TO GET A JOB." (That is total lie, there are no course na madali kumuha ng trabaho, hindi ka gra2duate ng kahit anong school at sa isang iglap eh paglabas mo ng bahay andyan na agad employer mo na naghahabol sa yo, kahit chiqs hindi nila hahabulin kung wala naman silang dpat habulin, kahit anong course ka pa, mahihirapan ka sa paghahanap ng trabaho, hindi sa dinadown ko kayo, pero syempre, in reality, makikipagsapalaran ka, makikipagcompetensya, pakapalan ng mukha, lakasan ng loob, at syempre, siguraduhing may ibubuga)
- DO NOT CHOOSE HRM BECAUSE YOU LATELY REALIZED THAT ALLIED SCIENCE COURSES ARE NOT REALLY FOR YOU. (marameng ganyan, pero duh, know what you really want, imbis na in 4 years ggraduate ka na, da2gdagan mo pa ng ilang taon for the sake na makatapos ka, konting hiya sa magulang)
- EXPECT THAT IN HRM, YOU WILL ALSO SPEND LOTS AND LOTS OF MONEY.
- WEAR THAT CHEF'S JACKET WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH PRIDE, SHOUT TO THE WHOLE WORLD THAT YOU WILL BE CHEF.
- A LOT OF PEOPLE WOULD SAY, "HRM IS ABOUT COOKING ETC2" EMPHASIZE THE LAST WORD INCLUDED IN THE ABBREVIATION... "MANAGEMENT."
- DO NOT STICK WITH JUST THE SKILLS THAT YOU'LL LEARN ALONG THE COARSE LINE, LEARN BY HEART THE MANAGERIAL PRINCIPLES AND KNOWLEDGE.
- BE THE WINNER,EVEN IF YOU WILL NOT BE A REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL, THE WHOLE INDUSTRY WILL NOT FUNCTION WELL WITHOUT US.
- IT WILL AND WILL ALWAYS BE A GREAT FEELING BEING AN HRM STUDENT,WITHOUT A GRADE OF 3.00. (A Lot of students will only settle for a tres, or kung tawagin nila eh "grade ng bayan." BIG NO!
- KEEP THIS ALWAYS IN MIND, YOU'RE AN APEX HUNTER, WHATEVER PEOPLE WILL SAY AND THINK ABOUT YOU, KILL THEM. YOU ARE THE KING OF YOUR OWN WORLD, DO NOT LET THEM BE A REASON TO BRING YOU DOWN.
Until then, wag kang magsasawa sa mga ginagawa mo...
Kaya mo yan!
